Should You Have a Thrash the Dress Photo Shooting?

Sunday, January 27th, 2019

Wearing the most beautiful wedding dress is surely one of your top priorities for the Big Day – but what happens with it afterwards?

Some brides choose to have a thrash the dress photo session, for example. Is that right for you too, though? Should you follow in the trend as well?

We have some tips to help you decide – so read on if you want to find out more.

  • Thrash the dress photos look amazing – and it’s a wonderful way you can get to wear your beautiful gown once again. These pictures are usually quite empowering and fun, and they can complement the entire story told by all the other wedding photos in a very beautiful way.
  • At the same time, though, thrash the dress photos are not for everyone. If you have spent a lot of money on your gown and don’t want to see it ruined, or if you plan on re-selling it as a gently used wedding dress, this kind of photos shooting might not be for you. Some budget-friendly brides are quite afraid of the fact that their gown will be completely ruined and that all the money they have invested in them will not be recovered in any way – and if you’re among these brides, it’s totally fine not to have a thrash the dress session (no matter what trends might say).
  • Some thrash the dress photo sessions are “lighter” and they simply take place in unusual places (such as on a field of lavender or rapeseed flowers). In this case, the gown might get stained – but with the help of a good cleaner, you can bring it back to its original state. Further on, you can have your gown boxed to be kept for the years to come. Who knows, maybe one day your own daughter will want to use the dress for her own wedding day!
  • In the end, it is all a matter of perception and preference. If you want this unique photo shooting, you should have it. But if you’re afraid that this might affect your finances, you are completely free not to thrash the dress!

These Are the Top Wedding Gown Trends to Consider in 2019

Sunday, January 20th, 2019

Wedding trends are always changing – and while you are definitely entitled to wear what you want (and create the wedding you want), these trends can be a good source of inspiration.

To complete an article that we published last year and help you gain the bird’s eye view on what wedding trends are bringing on the market for 2019 (and more specifically, for spring), we have gathered three more trends you might want to consider – so read on if you want to find out more.

  • Getting royal. While simple and minimalist wedding gowns are definitely a huge trend in 2019, the opposite is quite popular too. Royal-inspired wedding dresses are meant to make you, the bride, feel truly special as you walk down the aisle – and they are usually complemented by hairpieces worthy of a princess too. Long, form-fitting dresses, transparent capes, tiaras and crowns – they’re going to be big trends for brides who want their wedding day to feel torn out of a fairy tale.
  • Off the shoulder. This trend started to be popular about two years ago – and it will continue to amaze and inspire the wedding world in 2019 as well. In many instances, the off the shoulder trend is pushed even farther, to very off the shoulder gowns or even gowns with detachable sleeves (an idea that will work wonderfully for brides who want to make a real statement with their dresses). If off the shoulder gowns don’t suit you, other designs that emphasize the collarbones will be popular too – so you have plenty of options to choose from (fine sleeves, sleeveless, and so on).
  • Detailed backs. If you want a wedding dress that will genuinely WOW your guests as you walk down the aisle, opt for something with a detailed back. For instance, a backless wedding dress with a large bow or intricate model right at the confluence between the back and the top of the skirt will look absolutely fantastic on you. This trend is quite daring, but it will definitely be appreciated by everyone!

These 4 Tips Will Help You Pick the PERFECT Necklace for Your Wedding Look

Sunday, January 13th, 2019

If you are like most brides-to-be, you want to look nothing less than flawless on what is meant to be the most amazing and unforgettable event of your entire life.

Here at Adorn, we understand that better than anyone – and we also understand that a bride’s look is not about her dress only. That is, of course, a very important element – but the bridal accessories she wears can completely change her style. Even the simplest, most basic wedding gown can be instantly uplifted by the right accessories.

And, in most cases, the bridal accessory suite includes a necklace as well.

How to make sure you choose one that suits you from every point of view? Read on and find out more.

  • The dress neckline. Before you jump into any kind of necklace search, consider your wedding gown neckline. This is one of the single most important elements to think of when looking for the right necklace. For instance, an open neckline (e.g. a U-neckline) will look fantastic with a statement piece on it. A heart-shaped neckline will most likely look best with something simpler, such as a dainty necklace. And a high neckline or halter top will probably look best with no neckline at all (although even in this respect, there are daring brides who make a statement by choosing to wear a necklace).
  • The color. Yes, you will most probably wear white on your wedding day – but despite what some people may think, white does come in multiple shades. A warm shade (such as champagne) looks best on warm-toned skin and is best paired with yellow gold jewelry. A cool shade (such as ivory) looks best on a cool-toned skin and is best paired with platinum, white gold, and even rose gold (which might actually work for both skin types).
  • The measurements. Your neck’s width will decide the width of your chosen necklace (e.g. a choker should be about two inches larger than the neck width, but a pendant necklace will have to be at least four inches larger). Furthermore, your actual height can influence how a necklace looks on you (for instance, if your height is below 5’4”, you might want to make sure your necklace isn’t longer than 16 to 20 inches because anything longer than that might look slightly overwhelming for your height and frame).

3 Celebrity Weddings We Want to See in 2019

Sunday, January 6th, 2019

As the year is close to an end, we look back and smile at all the weddings we’ve seen in 2018 – the ones Adorn has been part of through our services, as well as the ones that inspired us and our brides-to-be.

Obviously, we love all weddings (that’s why we keep on doing what we do, after all) – but every now and again, we allow ourselves to be star-studded by celebrity weddings happening around us. We’ve written about some of the most popular ones this year – and we’d love to think there will be more to write about in 2019 as well.

What are some of the celebrity weddings we really want to see in 2019? We have gathered them right below – so read on if you want to find out more.

  • Joe LoCicero and Gina Rodriguez. Beautiful Jane the Virgin star showed off a stunning stone on her finger earlier this year and we’re expecting their Big Day to take place in 2019. We bet she will look nothing less than breathtaking (because, let’s face it, she would be radiant in the simplest white dress on Earth). This is going to give us all major wedding inspo when it happens – so exciting!
  • Ed Sheeran and Cherry Seaborn. This one’s tricky, because rumor has it that the couple is already married (and the main trigger for this rumor was a ring people spotted on Ed’s left hand). However, the rumor has not been confirmed yet – and some say that Ed’s ring is actually an engagement ring for men (which would make their story even sweeter than it already is!). We’d really love to see them have an actual wedding next year –we bet it would be truly worthy of such a romantic couple!
  • Khloé Kardashian and Tristan Thompson. Their relationship didn’t miss out on drama (because what else would you expect from a Kardashian love story, right?). Yet, after earlier this year, rumors of Tristan cheating on KoKo were confirmed, the couple seems to be better now (friends of their family even say they are in therapy and that he actually makes Khloe happy). It would be amazing to be part (even from afar) to another Kardashian wedding in 2019 – because, let’s face it, they really know how to pull of extravagant, opulent, fairytale-material weddings!
