Obsessed with Celebrity Weddings?

Thursday, October 15th, 2009

Well it’s hard not to be! Flip through a magazine while getting groceries or turn on the TV and you get bombarded with celebrity stories! So why do we love our celeb weddings? Is it the glamour? The opulence? The sheer outlandishness? Who knows…

Here are 3 totally different celeb weddings from the past few months- which one’s your favorite??

Whats with Khloe's hair?

Whats with Khloe's hair?

First we’ll start with one of the most attention grabbing ‘celebrities’ out there: Khloe Kardashian. The Kardashians have had a big year: Kourtney is preggers, Kim’s on again off again with Reggie Bush, and now Khloe’s gotten married to someone shes dated for less than a month: Lamar Odom.  Wheew – I’d hate to be their parents.

The bride wore Vera (of course) and the theme of the night was ‘Hollywood Night Club’ – how refined.  The rooms were filled with white roses and the night ended with a performance from Babyface! I’m sure it was quite a party, even though the jury’s out on how long the wedding will actually last.

Next lets take a look at the Alyssa Milano-David Bugliari wedding. Alyssa and David took the traditional route: the two were wed in David’s New Jersey estate which was covered in cream colored rose petals and natural grass. The bride wore a custom gown by Vera Wang as she walked down the aisle to ‘Imagine’ by John Lennon.

The two newlyweds also passed around bowls of pasta to their 250+ guests as homage to their Italian roots. You stay classy Alyssa!

And Finally – everyone’s favorite Brooklyn BoBo couple: Maggie Gyllenhaal –Peter Sarsgaard. These two indie hipster love birds got hitched in at the Convento di Santa Maria di Costantinopoli, a luxury bed and breakfast in Brindisi, Italy. Not only were the press not invited, but the couple wed before just 40 close friends and family members. Talk about private!

Guests were served a delightful banquet with local Castel di Salve wines. So even broke the Vera mold by asking Dries van Noten to create her wedding dress (of which I CAN NOT find a picture – does anyone know where one is?). So chic Maggie!
