Bridal Prepin’ and Some De-Stressin’

Monday, November 2nd, 2009

We all know weddings are stressful but no one gets as stressed out as the bride. You’ve got some much to take care of that you forget to do a few key things for yourself. Here are some tips/hints to keep sane during the insanity.

Take care of your skin

Everyone wants gorgeous skin for their wedding day. Not only will you be infront of all your friends and family, but you will have tons of pictures documenting the event for the rest of your life. Here’s the problem though, you have so much to worry about when it comes to wedding day preparations that you normally don’t even have time to think about your skincare. Also, not all of us know how to take care of our skin properly. Sure, you know you have to cleanse it and moisturize but with what products and how many times a day? Lucky for us Lee Mellott at Skin Care for Wrinkles gives us a great bridal skincare guide. Thank you Lee!

Get Some Rest

WakeupLight Do you have a hard time going to sleep lately? Having an even harder time waking up? I know how you feel, you have so much on your mind right now that sometimes you need a little extra help getting in and out of Dreamworld. Well the team at Phillips Electronics has created your perfect drug-free helper: the Wake-Up Light. According to the research team at Phillips, people feel more energetic when they wakeup with the sun so the Wake-Up Light simulates a sunrise when you have to get up before the sun actually rises (a.k.a. during winter). You start by setting the alarm clock 30 minutes earlier than you normally do and then the Wake-up Light gradually fills your room with bright light like a rising sun. The light also comes with FM radio, 4 ‘nature’ sounds (think song birds and wind chimes), adjustable light intensity, AND an Ipod docking station. It also has a dusk simulation which I happen to adore.  Great product!

Get Lost

Sometimes you just need a few moments to yourself to clear your head. Everyone needs a little piece of your time during the last few Massagesweeks of wedding prep, the hall needs you to sign things, your mother needs your opinion on your hairdo, your fiancé wants to discuss last minute honeymoon plans, and your mother-in-law is still trying to convince you to invite her half sister in Texas. Do yourself a favor, go for a walk by yourself and then make your way over to the nearest salon for a massage.  It’ll help to clear your head.  Important Note: make sure you’ve been to the salon before and know what kind of massages they give. Having bruises all over your body 2 days before being in a bridal party is no fun. Believe me.
