A Chain Of Color

Friday, July 22nd, 2016

Last week we talked about our colorful selection of earrings. This week let’s  talk about our colorful necklaces! We have a bright collection of necklaces in all kinds of colors to add a bit of shine to a simple dress. We picked our top three colorful necklaces to talk about with you this week!

Color Necklaces
First is our Mae PendantThis royal blue Tanzanite is surrounded by sparkling diamonds, suspended in a white gold chain. It’s perfect for bringing a little color to a simple, sophisticated wedding dress.

Second is our Chelsea Necklace. This gold necklace will turn heads with its high glossed chain designed. Add a little old time glamour to your vintage gown all while keeping it modern!

Last is our Parker Pendant. Simple and elegant with just a hint of regal romance, this 20 carat pendant offers eye-catching style. This deep chocolate colored stone is known to bring abundance, prosperity and good luck. It makes the perfect addition to an outdoor wedding dress!

Check back with us next week for our colorful bracelet collection!

A Pop of Color

Monday, July 11th, 2016

Whether you’re a traditional bride looking for a little pop of color to add to her white wedding day look or a modern bride looking to find the right color earrings to match your colorful dress, you can be sure that Adorn has what you’re looking for! We have a great selection of colorful diamond earrings that work for any dress. To prove it, we put together a few collages that show just how easy it is to match our earrings to your dress!

LentonEarringsOur first collage showcases our green Lenton Earrings. These earrings are Tsavorite Diamond and they will make your guests turn green with envy! Match them with an extravagant floral ballgown or keep things simple with a white strapless gown. Whichever you choose, these earrings make sure you will be the life of the party!

AftonEarringsThe second collage we have is our Rose Gold, Pink Tourmaline Afton Earrings. These earrings bring an elegant pop of color to a simple cap sleeve gown. They also match perfectly with the floral accents of one of our favorite Hailey Page gowns! If you’re going for modest or over the top wedding dresses, the Afton Earrings are sure to add the right touch of elegance.

IshaEarringsLast, but certainly not least, we have our Blue Topaz Isha Earrings. These are my favorite earrings because they have the perfect pop of blue as well as an interesting design. Match them up with a ruffled white dress for a traditional look with a twist. Or match them with a blue floral dress fit for a fairy princess!

If you’re a conservative bride looking for a tiny bit of color to brighten up your look or if you’re an extravagant bride looking for the perfect pair of matching earrings, you can be sure that we have what you need at Adorn.com!

A Wedding by the Ocean

BEach Wedding Ideas

One of the most popular summer wedding venues is the beach and we couldn’t love the idea more! Warm sand and beautiful ocean views make a wedding even more romantic. Seashells and starfish are simple and easy ideas to incorporate into a beach wedding! By placing both of these things in the bouquet and the boutonnière, your wedding party will be ready for their places by a beautiful blue archway to match the blue of the ocean waves. Matching  centerpieces on the tables will add a finishing touch! The ocean waves are always flowing and so should the dresses of your beach wedding! The bridesmaid dresses we chose are short, strapless and blue to offset the white of the long, flowy wedding dress. For jewelry ideas, we picked out some of our real diamond pieces that go well with both dresses. The first item we chose is our infinity diamond Vandervelden Necklace that gently scallops around the neckline. It’s one of our newer pieces and is already growing in popularity with modern brides! The Vandervelden Necklace looks beautiful with our Middleton Earrings. These earrings are modeled after the earrings that Kate Middleton wore as she married Prince William. Their retail value is $10,875.00 but you can rent them from Adorn for $160.00! They are sure to add a royal look to a beautiful beach wedding! To tie these sparkly jewelry pieces together we included our Anne pearl hair comb. This hair comb has a sprawling design of crystal and pearl clusters that are sure to make a bold statement. All of these pieces, together or individually, are sure to bring a special sparkle to any beach wedding! Below is a collage of beach wedding dress ideas for a simple look. In the top left corner, you will see on of our brides from Pasadena wearing our Lockwood Earrings for her beach wedding! This is a great picture of the beach bride and a great dress as well. We included three dresses from J. Crew’s beach wedding department! The other two dresses are from Tommy Bahama. We chose these dresses because not only do they have that simple beach look, but they also have a bridal feel to them that will make your wedding day even better!

Three Bridal Trends of 2016

Friday, May 6th, 2016

Bridal Fashion Week of 2016 was just a few weeks ago and designers were pulling out the hottest new trends for brides getting married this spring season. Out of all the beautiful styles and trends, we have three that really caught our attention and we’re sure you’ll love them, too!

Marchesa 2016

The first trend we’re highlighting is the layered princess dress! Every girl wants to be a princess and the princess dress has always been a classic bridal design. By layering the skirt, more volume is added to the dress for a more dramatic look. The Marchesa dress shown above shows off this trend perfectly with tulle layers and floral accents. We’ve paired the dress with our Clark Bracelet and Brent Necklace. The Clark Bracelet has a diamond cluster design that creates a structured floral pattern to match the floral accents of the dress. The Brent Necklace is a uniquely structured pearl drop necklace that pairs well with the structured look of the Marchesa. These two jewelery pieces matched with the dress are sure to give a bride that princess feeling on her big day!

Oscar de la Renta

The second popular trend to hit the runway is COLOR. More and more brides are straying away from the classic white dress and into a more colorful territory. Purples, blues, reds, and more hit the runway but this pink ombre Christian Siriano really caught our eye. We kept the jewelry simple for this dress. Not wanting to distract from the beautiful color, we paired this dress with our Blackwell Necklace and Danielson Earrings. The Blackwell Necklace adds to the modern theme of the dress with two diamond strands coming together for an asymmetrical look. The Danielson Earrings adds more sparkle to the look without distracting from the pink of the dress. Overall, these pieces with a colorful dress are sure to bring out a modern bride’s individual sparkle!

Oscar de la Renta 2016

The last trend is our favorite: cap sleeves. This simple look is getting twisted by dress designers into new, more modern ways that still look classy and elegant. The dress pictured above is another Oscar de la Renta that caught our eye. It’s a simple white dress but the floral accents along the collar and sleeves brings a beautiful spring look to the dress. Keeping the floral theme in mind, we’ve matched this dress with our Shaye Earrings and Parker Hair Pin. The Shaye Earrings bring a modern assymetrical flower shape to the look while the Parker Hair Pin adds a hint of sparkle into a bride’s updo or curly waves. This trend is our favorite because it brings together the elegant, simple design of the dress with modern sparkly touches from our diamond jewelry pieces! It’s a lovely spring look for any bride!

The Pros and Cons of a Holiday Wedding

Tuesday, December 8th, 2009

Weddings during holidays; the subject is a rather hot topic. Bring it up in conversation with your friends and I’ll guarantee you everyone will have a different take on it. Some people think they are wonderful, some find it intrusive for your guests’, others think it can come of as a bit cheesy. Here’s a list of pros and cons to help you decide the best thing for you to do.

Pros

  • If you get married during holidays such as Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, or Valentines Day, the hall you are having your reception in will no doubt have lovely decorations up for your event – free of charge.
  • Your wedding pictures will already have a dazzling unifying theme
  • Your guests will – odds are – already be off from work
  • Prices for wedding halls, catering, disc jockeys, etc can sometimes be cheaper due to a lack of demand
  • Your guests will already be in a festive mood

Cons

  • If you have a lot of out of town guests, hotels and airfare can be more expensive
  • If you are getting married ON a holiday as oppose to NEAR a holiday (aka weekend after Thanksgiving, weekend before Christmas, etc), your guests might be upset having to arrange their holiday plans around you
  • If you have a specific theme in mind for your wedding, having it around a holiday will mean you will need to 4thJULYBridalpay extra to have your hall change their decorations
  • If not executed properly, the wedding can come off as hokie. Sure everyone loves the 4th of July, but having the American flag in every inch of your wedding motif may come off a bit…how shall I say this…odd.

I hope this helped you in your decision on whether or not to have a wedding around the holidays. In my personal opinion, there is nothing wrong with having a wedding around a holiday that is special to you and your future husband…as long as it is tastefully done and as long as you are not insulted if a few guests decline your invite.

Beautiful Wedding Gowns for Less!

Tuesday, October 6th, 2009

Ok, how awesome is this idea: PreOwnedWeddingDresses.com gives the world of weddings a way to connect buyers and sellers of new, sample and used designer wedding dresses. They’ve got over 3400 wedding dresses available to peruse in just about ANY price range (seriously – the dresses go from $100 to $10,000. Amazing).

Wanna sell your wedding dress? This place is your dream. Its way better than putting it up on Craigslist or Ebay or some other anonymous website because your listing doesn’t expire for 12 full months AND they filter the spam requests for you. I know a few of you are shaking your heads right now “Why would I want to sell my wedding dress?” Honey, I’ve had several friends buy 2, 3, even 4 wedding dresses before they walk down the aisle. Why? They made the mistake of CONTINUING to check out dresses after they bought one. Take a piece of advice from Adorn – once you have your wedding gown stop looking at dresses! It only leads to bigger bills.

Here are some glorious dresses (with some of our glorious gems to match) – bask in their lusciousness!

This simple yet elegant Melissa Sweet gown pairs beautifully with the Stevenson earrings and necklace. Class Act!
